Project Overview.
Our organization proudly offers a free tax filing program in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to support low-income individuals, students, and newcomers. This initiative provides accessible, no-cost tax clinics to ensure participants can file their tax returns accurately and access the benefits, credits, and financial resources they are entitled to receive
Each year from March to June, we host tax preparation clinics staffed by dedicated volunteers who assist in preparing income tax and benefit returns for those who meet the program's eligibility criteria. These clinics aim to alleviate the stress of tax filing, providing step-by-step guidance and personalized support to those who qualify for the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).
Through programs like the CVITP and targeted tax workshops, we address immediate needs such as tax filing while equipping individuals with the tools to manage their overall financial health.

Why This Service Matters?
For 60% of Canadians living paycheck to paycheck, timely tax returns are crucial for financial stability. Unfortunately, high filing costs, limited accessibility, and confusing tax forms prevent many from filing on time. This leads to nearly 30% of eligible taxpayers missing out on essential benefits and credits when they need them most. By offering this service, we aim to break down these barriers, providing a reliable and accessible solution to help individuals navigate the tax process and secure their financial well-being.
